Creole language: from orality to writing

Abstract

Creole languages in the Caribbean regions share many similarities.  The development of writing has moved forward in countries such as Belize, Jamaica and Colombia (San Andrés) where Creole Literature is being produced.  In this article, the author analyzes the writing process of Nicaraguan English, the origins of Nicaraguan Creole and its Linguistic variations, various attempts to write this language, some of its grammatical characteristics and finally its role and current situation in Bilingual intercultural Education.
