Abstract

Narrating his experience in the struggle for the ethnic claims in the Atlantic Coast, Steadman Fagott makes a quick journey through the struggle for the Autonomy. Starting from the break up between the indigenous organization Misurasata and the Sandinista revolution, it goes through the government of Violeta Chamorro, Arnoldo Aleman and Enrique Bolaños to end up in the present administration presided by, the Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega.  In this administration he is presently the director of the Fishing institute (instituto de la Pesca). From this position he analyses the role of this institution of vital importance for the administration of the fishing resources of the Atlantic Coast in the past, the present and the future.
