Bird of Prinzapolka Municipality

Abstract

This is a record of birds of prey present in Prinzapolka Municipality, with their status and magnitude according to the habitat for each species.  The scare activity of ornithologists in this region of Nicaragua gives to these 247 days long fieldwork great importance.  In this study, endangered migratory species, endemic from the Mosquito Coast, and species that make their nest in the country and emigrate to South America as well as other species that accidentally appear in the area were registered.  Their habitats can be found in pine savannah, dense forest, bambuzales, rivers, swamps, lagoons and communities.
