Socioeconomic conditions of the creole ethnic group in Bilwi

Abstract

This article is based on a study of the Creole ethnic group in the town of Bilwi.  On the one hand, the article describes the history of this ethnic group, its demographics, the number of families in it, the neighborhoods they live in and their places of origins.  The article also describes the Creoles different religions, the places they regularly visit and their most important recreational activities.  On the other hand, the article examines their commercial activities and their access to the different kinds of employment in the Puerto Cabezas labor market.  Finally, the article summarizes the various actions the Creoles of Bilwi suggest in order to strengthen their identity.
