Facts for an economic history of the municipality of Puerto Cabezas

Abstract

The  economic  history  of Puerto  Cabezas  is  closely  linked  to  the  existence  of economic  enclaves, especially the  banana enclave  in the  1920s and later the  wood enclave that  lasted until the 1960s. Toe  material  presented here  includes the total  amount  of exports  and  imports  reported by  Puerto  Cabezas  Customs  and  a  list  of  the main  industrial,  commercial  and  service  companies  officially  registered  between  1943  and 1977,  as  well  as  some  selected  indicators  for the  year of  1963.
