Abstract

Bragman's Bluff Lumber Company played a leading role in the emergence and precarious consolidation of the banana enclave in the territory that officially became the municipality of Puerto Cabezas in April of 1929.  Relevant aspects of the municipality 's history in the 1920s are closely linked to the activities of the company. These aspects are presented in this section through excerpts from four publications by the following authors:  Frutos Ruiz y Ruiz, Thomas L.  Karnes, Carlos Araya Pochet and Oscar René Vargas.
