One of the areas in which CIDCA has developed research since its inception has been the study of the indigenous languages of the Atlantic Coast, in part to accompany bilingual education projects. This research has produced grammars, dictionaries and essays on specific topics, some still unpublished. This article includes an inventory of publications on our languages, beginning with works done before the creation of CIDCA, some of them very meritorious, to provide the background against which the contribution of the research promoted by CIDCA can be evaluated, as well as the role of Wani in its dissemination. Subsequently, a summary is elaborated on the current situation in demographic terms of our native languages and their variants and what is currently postulated about the existing filiation relations between them. Finally, some tasks to be undertaken in order to develop the research carried out and to disseminate and take advantage of the knowledge already generated are proposed.
