This is the autobiographic account of the most important Sumo leader of the last century. Until his death, he embodied the history of his people: grandeur vastly distributed In Nicaraguan names; the generalized discrimination that this ethnic group was subjected to for centuries; the precarious struggle for its subsistence during the second world war, when the main economic activity of the Sumo people was picking tuno trees for rubber production in the impenetrable mountains of Northern Nicaragua; the accusations against the mining companies that poisoned the water of its rivers and the blood of its sons; the courage in the struggle for its ancestors' territories and its proven willpower to obtain a better future through work and education.
