Introduction to Chapter VI of the Fellechner report on the inhabitants of the Mosquitia in 1844.

Abstract

This text is an introduction to Chapter VI of the Fellechner Report that we present in this issue of Wani. Its author describes the historical context in which this important Report took place, the personalities involved and the interests of each one, the persons who participated in the expedition that originated the report, the date of its publication, the journey of the expedition, the origins, objectives and mode of preparation of the Report, the ambitions of the Prussian colonization project, the reasons for its cancellation and the repercussions of its initiative. A table of contents of the complete Report and the notes to this introduction are presented at the end.
