Abstract

This interview was organized to analyze the conflict over land demarcation in Awas Tingni.  However, the leader’s responses cover broader ground. In addition to land demarcation, they deal with fundamental aspects of the current political demands of the Atlantic Coast people especially those of indigenous groups related to autonomous political institutions. indigenous identity and the status of the Autonomous Regime. Ali these issues are interpreted from the perspective of one of their main actors. In order to enrich the interview, the authors present biographical information on the interviewee and some background about the claims of the Costeños people from the Sandinista Revolution onwards.
