Abstract

This paper presents the implementation of the definite integral to analyze the viscosity property in fluids, with the objective of providing a guide for research and analysis in this complex field from a mathematical calculus perspective. Two problems related to the viscosity variable were selected from the ninth edition of Victor Streeter's book. In order to gather accurate information and present it in a coherent manner, a qualitative approach was employed. Through physical and mathematical calculations, a solid method was developed to study viscosity, promoting interdisciplinarity by addressing relevant topics from different areas of the Physics-Mathematics career, such as Calculus, Algebra and Fluid Mechanics Physics, as well as evaluation through rubrics. The results of this study contribute to the enrichment and broadening of knowledge, both for students and teachers interested in the properties of fluids. This innovative approach combines different subjects and fosters the development of critical thinking in new generations of academics.
